Hibba was appointed as the lead technical architecture partner, responsible for designing the Azure landing zone, planning the migration waves and ensuring interoperability with over 40 satellite systems. Our team of SAP Basis consultants, Azure Solutions Architects and enterprise integration specialists worked alongside the client's internal IT organisation and a global systems integrator to deliver the programme over 18 months.

The Azure landing zone was designed following the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework, with dedicated subscriptions for each business unit, hub-and-spoke networking for centralised security controls and Azure ExpressRoute for low-latency connectivity to on-premises data centres. We implemented Azure NetApp Files for SAP HANA persistent storage, delivering the throughput and IOPS required for the organisation's 12 terabyte HANA database.

The migration was executed in five waves, with each wave involving a dedicated cutover weekend supported by automated runbooks and rollback procedures. We designed a comprehensive testing strategy that included functional regression, performance benchmarking and disaster recovery validation for every wave.
